Dear Olusola
I like this focus area
1- It is necessary to develop a minimum academic standards, I worked with 5
Arab countries including 3 African countries to develop a minimum academic
standards for 10 programs. There are other initiatives in the Arab countries
to develop academic standards
2- Minimum standards should be for the program more than courses. May be
that we can say core standards so every University can add to the core some
standards according to the mission of the institution
3- Standards cannot be uniform to all 53 countries, may be regional would be
easier, but their should be flexibility to each country
4- Standards are usually for the programs. I mean develop common standards
for engineering but with specialization to every program like mechanical e.
electric, civil engineering etc

Cher tous,

questions.
