Training of Trainers Workshop

MEETING VENUE
The Workshop for Training of Trainers will be a two-day workshop on 14th and 15th May, 2008. The workshop will be held at the Imperial Hotel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The same hotel will offer accommodation to participants (bed & breakfast). AAU will be responsible for the accommodation of participants. An allowance will be given to participants for their dinner and other expenses such as laundry, telephone etc.
Imperial Hotel is located close to the Bole International Airport. The hotel offers airport shuttle service and therefore participants will be picked from the airport to the hotel.

WORKING LANGUAGES
The working language of the Workshop will be English. This is a training workshop but the training will be done in French as well.

DOCUMENTS
Any helpful documents for the meeting will be sent to participants by email before the Workshop.

TRAVEL, ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
The Association of African Universities (AAU) will be responsible for the travel in economy class of participants who were informed about this arrangement in their invitation letters, as well as their accommodation (bed and breakfast) during their stay in Addis Ababa. Group lunches and tea/coffee breaks will be provided by the AAU on meeting days. The Association will assume no responsibility for any unpaid bills other than the ones mentioned.

ENTRY VISA REQUIREMENTS
Participants are kindly advised to obtain entry visas to Addis Ababa before departure. For those who do not have Ethiopian Diplomatic Mission in their countries of residence, visas will be given on arrival at Addis Ababa airport, but it is best to get the visa if the Mission is available in your country. Please carry your letter of invitation along.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
A YELLOW FEVER Vaccination Certificate is required from participants coming from infected areas. It should be pointed out that the Vaccination Certificate for Yellow Fever is valid ten (10) days after the date of vaccination or in case of re-vaccination as from the date of re-vaccination.

ARRIVALS
Participants will arrive at the Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Participants will be transported from the airport to the hotel on arrival.

WEATHER
Mainly warm weather. Temperatures range between 25 degree Celsius and 13 degree Celsius. Light clothing, including a light suit, would be most appropriate.

TIME
The time in Ethiopia is 3 hours ahead of GMT.

CURRENCY
The currency in Ethiopia is Ethiopian Birr (ETB) and the rate of exchange as against the US dollar is on the average 1 USD = 9.52865 ETB. Money can be changed at the Hotel, or at the Banks. Most major credit cards are universally accepted.
