COREVIP
The Conference of Rectors, Vice Chancellors and Presidents (COREVIP) is a biennual scientific conference that brings together chief executive officers of member institutions or their representatives and other leading academics and policy-makers for the purpose of examining themes of major concern to African higher education and development. The themes for the last three COREVIPs have been “Higher Education Management and Leadership in the Information Age” (2001: Nairobi, Kenya); “The Role of African Higher Education Institutions in the Building of the African Union” (2003: Grand Bay, Mauritius); and “Cross-Border Provision and the Future of Higher Education in Africa” (2005: Cape Town, South Africa). The last COREVIP was held in conjunction with the last General Conference in Cape Town, South Africa in February 2005. 

For COREVIP 2007, it is proposed to examine issues related to the brain drain and the African Diaspora, with a view to developing constructive and effective approaches to addressing the challenges and capitalizing on the opportunities.
